Alan David, Registered Dental Technologist

Alan David ‘s vision of DLA is one of a boutique dental laboratory where the highest quality of restorations is created through close communication with customers – both dentists and dental technologist. Alan honed his skills in all aspects of dental technology over 28 years, studying and practicing in South Africa, London and Toronto. He gained extensive CAD/CAM knowledge and qualifications, which he then applied to DLA Dental Laboratory, a company he co founded with Larry Rips, RDT in 1998.

Alan completed his schooling in Johannesburg South Africa, qualifying in 1983, then began working with a London Prosthodontist from 1986-1987. He then spent 12 critical years in a high end Toronto laboratory where he served as manager and supervisor of the porcelain department.
Today, Alan continues to learn and practice on the leading edge of emerging dental and aesthetic dental technologies and aesthetic dental. He has completed numerous advanced courses, and has studied under Europe’s top Master Technicians.

Larry Rips, Registered Dental Technologist

Larry demonstrates passion and commitment for both the creative and technical aspects of the lab. DLA benefits from his 21 years of dedication to the precision craft of emerging dental lab technologies and an absolute understanding of the importance of high customer service. Larry is one of only a few technicians that have participated in and completed a surgical mentorship program in implant dentistry. His surgical training included patient and site selection, site preparation, implant placement drafting, and final prosthetics.

Larry completed his education in South Africa, and then continued his studies in France at one of Europe’s most well known dental laboratories. In Canada, Larry joined a prestigious downtown laboratory where he completed his RDT.

David Kochberg, Registered Dental Technologist

Mr. Kochberg is a Registered Dental Technologist and operating manager of Applied Arts Ceramic Laboratories Ltd. Since 1987, under his direction, it has placed its emphasis on implants and aesthetic dentistry. He is co-founder of the Toronto Implant Study Club, the Academy of Dental Technology, and of the International Dental Congress. He has been an active lecturer for the Ontario Study Club for Osseointegration, for the Association of Dental Technologists of Ontario, and the US-based Academy of Osseointegration.
